There is wax, and there is wax. And quality matters a lot. There are also various waxes and combinations that are extra beneficial for wood. The right amount of each wax in a combination makes as big a difference as the quality of the wax you use. Not all waxes are toxin-free, either.
Many waxes are mixed with paraffin oil, and the cheap waxes can be mixed with as much as 50% oil. That's a ripoff, and it does not give as good surface protection at all. This is why we only use high-quality waxes controlled for purity and toxins in our products. Not for prestige, but because it matters a lot for the protection of the wood. A cheap product is likely to also include cheap wax. Neither the can nor the wood will last as long as concentrated wax. (So its not really cheap.)
As in all our products, we also have a natural bactericidal agent in them that prevents the wax from going rancid.

Vinnie's Oil is a system for wood. We do not believe in one product that does every task better than everything else. (Even if you can use Vinnies Oil UPO as monocoat) we believe that a polymerizing and pore-filling product for penetration, together with the hardest wax on the market for top surface protection, provides the best possible protection for a natural product. And that's what we are aiming for.
